IFB starts its new connection Antwerp Combinant-Vienna-Sopron
Antwerp, July 5 2010 – IFB, independent subsidiary of SNCB Logistics and specialised in intermodal transport, develops of its European rail network. Thanks to a partnership with Intercontainer (ICF), IFB gives customers rail access to the whole of Eastern Europe.

IFB develops its rail network to Eastern Europe significantly
Antwerp, February 11 2010 – IFB, independent subsidiary of SNCB Logistics and specialised in intermodal transport, invests further in the development of its European rail network. After the new connections towards France, Spain and Italy, and thanks to a partnership with Intercontainer (ICF), IFB today opens a new network to the whole of Eastern Europe for its customers.
IFB France develops its network to the South significantly (Spain and Italy)
As of February 1, new rail connections of IFB in the direction of Spain will start from the IFB France terminal in Bonneuil-sur-Marne, located South of Paris. IFB France disposes in Bonneuil-sur-Marne of an intermodal rail terminal with its own operational team for the local operations.

The Ecological Transport Information Tool (EcoTransIT) is an Internet tool that compares the environmental impacts of goods transported by different modes within Europe. EcoTransIT compares the energy consumption, greenhouse gas and exhaust emissions of freight transported by rail, road, ship and aircraft. It also takes into account intermodal transport services, the characteristics of the transported goods and the different technical standards of the vehicles.
DB Schenker Rail and SNCB join forces and launch new production company
Closely linked production on German-Belgian corridor will boost competitiveness
Brussels/Berlin, December 15 2009 - DB Schenker Rail, the freight railway company of Deutsche Bahn, and SNCB Logistics today signed an agreement to establish a joint production company, named COBRA. The two railway operators join forces in order to be able to offer better quality and efficiency on the Belgian, German and Dutch routes. Moreover, COBRA permits to have a more competitive offer and strengthen the international position of both companies. COBRA will serve as a production company, so all commercial activities remain in hands of the two main operators.
IFB organises a rail freight connection for the transport of glass panels for the Italian logistics company Lannutti between the trimodal terminal Charleroi Trimodal Logistics Center and Dresden (Germany)

IFB connects the rail terminal Main Hub Antwerp with Rotterdam
Antwerp, June 11 2009 - IFB, member of BCargo Group and specialised in intermodal traffic, invests further in new rail connections and starts as of June 16 with a new intermodal connection between Antwerp Main Hub terminal and Rotterdam Maasvlakte (ECT Delta). In a first phase, the train will operate twice a week in each direction, with a configuration of 80 TEU.
Cooporation between the ports of Charleroi and Dunkerque, CTLC welcomes the first barge in Charleroi
Charleroi, May 29 2009 - On May 29, Charleroi Trimodal Logistics Center has welcomed on its multimodal terminal, a first barge with a load of 27 containers of ferro-nickel coming from the port of Dunkerque.
IFB takes over commercial transport activities of TRW. TRW becomes a commercial wagon fleet manager
Antwerp, 30 April 2009 – IFB, a specialist in multimodal transport, will as of 1 May take over all the commercial transport activities of TRW. The NMBS/SNCB (Belgian Rail) subsidiaries IFB (Inter Ferry Boats) and TRW (Transport Route Wagon) have operated alongside each other for some years now. They both specialised in intermodal transport: IFB in maritime container transport via rail and inland navigation, and TRW especially in continental combined rail transport. Both companies have continuously expanded their activities in recent years, with more and more common customers and, at times, overlapping products.
Support for new containerterminal-Combinant
Antwerp, 10 March 2009- Today,10 March 2009, the works symbolically started for the building of a new multimodal terminal (rail-road) that will be operational in 2010, in the northern part of the harbour of Antwerp, on the grounds of BASF Antwerp. Flemish Prime Minister Kris Peeters and vice- Prime Minister Dirk Van Mechelen underscored with their presence the importance of this new multimodal terminal in the harbour of Antwerp.
Extension of the rail express services of the IFB Group "RHÔNE FLANDERS EXPRESS"

Rail/Road Service to/from Ottmarsheim
IFB and HSCL have a rail/road product between de inland port of Ottmarsheim and the ports of Antwerpen and Zeebrugge. Train services starts with a frequency of 2 trains weekly in both directions. The trains will run additionaly to the barge services, also offered by the two partners.
P&G chooses greener transport
Muizen (Mechelen), 12 february 2009 - Procter & Gamble, one of the world''s largest producers of consumer goods, will make use of railway transport for the transport of its finished products in Belgium. The Intermodal Project of P&G was officially presented in the terminal of IFB in Muizen in the presence of the Flemish minister Hilde Crevits.
